Unreal Flight Sim Content
An example interactive flight simulator developed using FLAMES and Unreal Engine.
Description
The Unreal Flight Sim Content includes a component plugin, multiple scenarios, documentation, and an Unreal Engine game that provide an example of an interactive fixed-wing aircraft flight simulator developed using FLAMES and Unreal Engine. The documentation describes how to execute the flight simulator within multiple FLAMES scenarios. The documentation also describes the component classes contained in the plugin. Installing and examining this content is a great way to advance your understanding of the FLAMES Unreal Engine option.
What's Included:
A flight simulator client application developed using Unreal Engine. The simulator can be flown with a keyboard or with certain Thrustmaster USB stick and throttle controls. The pilot view can be displayed on a monitor or in Varjo (and other) VR goggles.
An Unreal Engine game library that executes in FLAMES and acts as the server for one or more flight simulator clients.
Multiple scenarios that allow a pilot to interact with automated air and ground entities.
A FLAMES plug-in containing multiple models used by the flight simulator.
Documentation on the flight simulator, the models in the plug-in, and the example scenarios.
What Else Must be Installed:
The trial or unrestricted version of the FLAMES Engine
The
FLAMES Starter Content
(The Unreal Engine does not need to be installed to use this content. However, your computer must meet the requirements for executing Unreal Engine games.)
The complete Unreal Editor project in source form for the Unreal game included in this content is available in the Unreal Flight Sim Game Project in the FLAMES Store. Information on how to get the complete source code for the component classes contained in the plugin is available in the
